Yes, of course—provided you start with a good-quality broth and process it properly. In our view, powder is the better option when it comes to convenience, storage and preparing a fresh cup when you want one.
That’s not because turning broth into powder magically adds more nutrients. It’s because you get the same broth in a form that is much easier to use.
We started selling liquid bone broth in 2017 and began selling powdered broth in 2018. Having worked with both, we honestly can’t think of a situation where we would prefer to send out liquid broth.
Our powdered bone broth starts as exactly the same finished broth we would otherwise sell as a liquid. We then remove the water through freeze-drying.
That’s the important point: we’re not talking about a completely different recipe just because it comes in a pouch as a powder.
When you’re ready to use it, you add the water back. Boil the kettle or heat your water, measure out the serving for your particular product, add the water, give it a stir, and you’re good to go.

When we first sold liquid broth, the logistics were difficult.
Keeping it cold or frozen during delivery was a challenge. Suitable packaging was expensive, and then there was the postage itself.
You’re basically posting water. Either we’re paying to send that water around the country, or the customer is.
It didn’t make much sense to us when we could remove the water and let people add it back at home. Powder gave us a much more convenient way to deliver the same product.
Another reason we prefer powder is that you don’t have to open a whole packet of liquid broth to make one cup.
Customers have told us about opening liquid broth, putting the remainder in the fridge and then throwing some away because they hadn’t used it in time. With powder, you can measure out the amount you want and reseal the pouch.
That’s what we mean when we describe powder as the better practical option. You make your broth when you want it, rather than having an opened packet waiting to be finished.
The feedback we hear is straightforward: it’s much easier, much quicker and a vastly easier product to use.
Our powder starts as exactly the same broth we would otherwise sell as a liquid. We remove the water through freeze-drying so you can add it back when you’re ready to use it.
We chose this approach because we wanted to offer our broth in a convenient form—not replace it with a different recipe. For us, good-quality ingredients and careful processing are what matter, rather than whether the finished product reaches you as a liquid or a powder.
When comparing nutrition labels, make sure you compare prepared servings. Dry powder is concentrated, so comparing 100g of powder with 100g of liquid broth won’t tell you how the two stack up in your cup.
Our view is straightforward: you don’t need to buy liquid broth simply because you think powder must be nutritionally inferior. With our product, you’re starting with the same broth, with the added convenience of preparing just what you need.
Whether you buy liquid or powdered broth, our first advice is the same: check the provenance.
Where do the bones come from? How are the cattle raised? What can the producer tell you about its sourcing and processing?
We look for high-quality, pasture-raised cattle, preferably from organic farms. For our own broth, we source bones from local organic farms here in the UK, using pasture-raised cattle, and humane slaughter matters to us too.
Then look at how the powder is made. We use freeze-drying, and we think it’s worth asking a producer to explain its process rather than judging a product simply because it is liquid or powdered.

For everyday use, we keep the powder in its pouch and reseal it after each use, storing it in a cool, dry place.
We give our pouches a six-month shelf life from the date we pack them—not six months from when you open them. Our biodegradable packaging is part of the reason we set that limited shelf life.
Follow the storage instructions and best-before date on your own pouch.
Our answer is yes—and for day-to-day use, we prefer it.
We’ve sold liquid broth. We know the difficulties of keeping it cold, packaging it and posting it. Powder lets us offer the same broth in a form that customers can prepare quickly, in the amount they need.
Good sourcing still matters. Proper processing still matters. But there’s no reason for us to send you the water when you already have it at home.
